November 2, 2021 Election
November 2, 2021 Election will include a State of Maine Referendum Ballot as well as a Local City of Belfast Ballot. Documents will be posted on this page in reference to this Election. Please be aware that the Polling Location for WARDS 3&4 has changed for this election going forward, from The Crosby Center to The Tarratine Tribe. The Tarratine Tribe is located in the center of town at 153 Main Street, with plenty of parking and more than enough space to hold all voters for Ward 3&4, even with 6ft distance between voting booths to accommodate for safety precautions due to Covid 19 in Waldo County. Please be aware that the City Clerk's office will be closed on Election Day to staff all 3 locations with registrars for voter support and convenience.

Absentee Ballot Application (Please be aware we do not receive absentee ballots until 30 days prior to an Election. You can apply for one up to 60 days prior to the election, but we are unable to send you one until we receive them in our office.)
Absentee Request Portal (Please use this for easy use by you the voter and our Clerk's office. When we receive the ballots, they will be sent to you via mail.)
The City Clerk's Office is now accepting requests for Absentee Ballots for the November 2, 2021 State & Local Election. See above for a blank application that you can print, complete and submit to our office. You can also use the State of Maine Absentee Portal to request your absentee ballot. Please be aware that we do not receive the ballots until 30 days prior to any Election. If you have or will be submitting a request application, you should expect to receive your Absentee Ballots in the mail by the second week in October. Once we have received the ballots in our office, any voter can come in and vote here in the Clerk's office if you choose, or you can complete an application and we will physically hand you the ballots over the counter. To return the ballots you can use the US Postal service for $0.65, hand deliver to the Clerk's office, or use our new Ballot Drop Box located at the High Street Entrance of City Hall. This box will be checked daily to process all absentees returned by voters.Anyone submitting an Absentee Ballot back to the City Clerk's office can do so by:

- In Person at our High Street Entrance *New Office Hours starting September 1, 2020: Monday-Thursday 7:00am-6:00pm*
- NEW! Drop Box located outside the building at our High Street Entrance *anytime day or night*. This Drop Box will be ONLY for Absentee Ballots.
