The Belfast Police Department acts as the Animal Control for the City of Belfast.
Responsibilities:
- Enforcing leash laws and other animal control ordinances
- Capturing and impounding stray animals
- Promoting the adoption of animals
- Investigating animal cruelty, vicious animals, and nuisance animal complaints.
- Investigating and following up on animal-inflicted injuries
