Informational Hearing: Hosted by the City of Belfast
Re: Nordic Aquafarms proposal to build a sustainable land-based salmon farm in Belfast
Hutchinson Center, 80 Belmont Avenue, Belfast
Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This is not a public hearing. It is a question and answer session offered to provide additional clarity and information to the public.  No testimony will be taken.  No votes will be cast.  This is an opportunity to learn what this project is and what it is not.  Some things, like where buildings will actually be located, are unknown at this time.  We will have seating for about 200 people and the entire meeting will be recorded and distributed on TV and online by Bel TV.  A similar gathering and process was held when the Front Street Shipyard came to Belfast.

We will have a panel present to answer as many questions as we can.  That panel will include Erik Heim, President and CEO of Nordic Aquafarms, Elizabeth Ransom from Ransom Consulting, Thomas Kittredge, Economic Development Director, Wayne Marshall, City Director of Code and Planning, representatives and other staff members from the City Council and the Belfast Water District.  Please come or watch this online.

Thank you!
Joe Slocum
City Manager
