HOUSE RULES/INVENTORY
Boat House Property:
The Boat House property consists of the 3,690 sq ft
building; the fenced in grassed area that surrounds the building and the paved
parking lot located to the immediate left of the approach to the main entrance.
Dimension of rooms:

The Boat House property consists only of the area listed
above and does include a portion of the Steamboat Landing
Park. (see map provided)

Seating Regulation/Capacity:

Certificate
of Liability Insurance: (usually through home-owners policy)

Liability insurance must be obtained to cover
any function held at the The Boat House that alcohol will be
consumed, served or sold;

If alcohol is present, being served or sold- the
City must be named as the certificate holder and;

The coverage will be no less than $500,000 and;
-
A copy of the insurance coverage (Certificate of
Liability) dating the event will be provided to the Boathouse Coordinator
prior to the function.
A wedding or social function providing and/or serving
alcohol that has been purchased by them personally, the renter will be
required to obtain liability insurance from their home-owners insurance
carrier. The City of Belfast will be named as an additional insured in
the coverage.
If a licensed caterer provides and/or sells (cash bar)
alcohol beverages, the caterer will need to apply for an Off Premises Permit
(City Clerk’s office) and also provide liability insurance coverage in the
amount of $1,000,000. A copy of the insurance coverage must be provided to the
Boathouse Coordinator prior to the date of the function.
Garbage Removal & Building Set-up/Clean-up/Equipment Stacked & Stored.
No
--STAPLES-NAILS-DUCT TAPE are to be used on the Walls!
a.
It is the responsibility of the renter to remove all garbage and leave
the building cleaned after your event.
b.
If garbage is left behind after an event and no arrangements made for its
removal, the
City will assess a charge
for the removal and send a bill for this service to the renter named on
the application.
c.
The renter shall report any damages that occur to the property during
their event to the boathouse coordinator as soon as practical.

Steamboat Landing Park:
Steamboat Landing Park is a complete and
separate entity of the Boat House and is open for use by the general public at
large. As a public park, under MRSA Title 25, Section
3801 the consumption of
liquor or possession of an open container of liquor is prohibited (please
refer to park map for designated grounds rental area).
It shall be the responsibility of the Renter
and/or Caterer to ensure that liquor served at any function held at the Boat
House is not taken off the Boat House Property as outlined in this
document and map.
